Discover Scuba

- Starts with a training session on shore
- Includes a guided dive from shore

Just so it's clear: Discover Scuba is a shore experience — the training session and the dive both happen from shore. It does not include a boat dive. If you'd like to dive from the boat, see two-tank resort diving below.
How it goes
Your first dive, one step at a time.
Nothing happens quickly, and nothing happens before you're ready for it.
Meet your instructor
You'll go through the basics together on shore — how the gear works, how breathing underwater feels, and what the plan for the day is. Ask anything.
Get comfortable in shallow water
Into the shallows with your instructor beside you, just getting used to breathing from a regulator and moving around with the equipment on.
Practise the essential skills
A few simple, genuinely manageable skills — clearing your mask, finding your regulator — practised until they feel routine rather than daunting.
Your guided shore dive
When you're ready, you'll head out on a guided dive from shore, to a maximum depth of 40 feet, staying with your instructor throughout.
Your instructor stays directly with you from the first breath to the last — that never changes, whichever way the day goes.
Reassurance
Nervous is normal.
Most first-time divers arrive excited and a little nervous. We take it slowly, explain each step, and give you time to become comfortable before moving farther into the water.
- You don't need to be a strong swimmer or an experienced diver
- The whole experience moves at your pace, not a schedule's
- Nobody is pushed to continue if they're not comfortable
- Your instructor stays close to you the entire time
- Conditions and how you're feeling determine the final plan
- Standard medical forms and normal diving requirements apply
A step further
Two-tank resort diving
$300per person, equipment included
If you'd like to dive from the boat rather than from shore, this is the route. It includes two boat dives with rental equipment included.
It is available after a successful shore evaluation — you complete the required introductory evaluation first, and your instructor confirms you're ready.
This isn't automatic on booking. Whether the boat dives go ahead depends on how the evaluation goes, your comfort in the water, instructor approval, and the day's conditions. We'll be honest with you about it either way, and nobody is out of pocket for being told to wait.

Families & mixed groups
When not everyone is diving
A private charter can combine certified divers, snorkellers, non-divers and children on the same trip — so nobody gets left behind on the beach.
Two things to know: Discover Scuba participants need direct instructor supervision, and the minimum diving age is 10. Mixed activities have to be planned in advance so we bring the right crew and gear.
