The fleet

Two boats, each chosen for a different kind of day

We choose the boat and operating area around the conditions and the trip you are planning. Both boats provide the same personal DNS Diving service, with each especially well suited to a different side of Grand Cayman.

Ariality · North Side

Our North Side boat, and the only one that runs Stingray City

Ariality primarily runs North Side trips when conditions allow, along with certified diving, training dives, private charters, family and mixed-group charters, and snorkeling anywhere around the island.

Ariality is the only DNS Diving boat used for Stingray City. If a Stingray City visit is part of your day, it's on Ariality.

We prefer to keep groups to around eight divers. A single dive group can go up to 12 when the group size calls for it, and a Stingray City charter can carry up to 16 guests — but that's the exception for a larger booking, not the normal DNS experience. Stingray City charters start at $850.

Viewfinder · West Side

Our West Side boat, built for comfort and easy access

Viewfinder primarily runs West Side trips — it doesn't operate North Side trips, and it doesn't go to Stingray City. It's set up for certified diving, training, private charters, family outings, snorkeling, shallow-water trips, and mixed-group outings.

Its low, open deck makes it an easy, comfortable boat to move around on — which is part of why it works so well for shallow-water trips and mixed groups of divers and non-divers together.

We normally prefer around eight divers. Viewfinder can accommodate a larger established group of up to 16 when arranged in advance, but that is not the normal small-group DNS experience.

How a dive day works

Valet-style service, on either boat

  • Divers enter using a giant stride from the stern
  • Divers exit using the boat ladder
  • Standard tanks are aluminum 80s
  • Nitrox is available for an additional charge — $20 per tank
  • Gear stays assembled through the dive day
  • DNS rinses and stores guest gear between dive days when applicable
  • Crew assists with tanks and equipment as part of our valet-style service

Families & non-divers

Viewfinder is especially comfortable for kids, snorkelers, and mixed groups

That doesn't mean Ariality can't carry a family or mixed group too — both boats welcome family and mixed-group charters. Viewfinder's layout just makes it a particularly easy fit when non-divers are along for the day.

Departure location is selected according to weather and sea conditions so DNS can provide the safest and best diving available that day.

Where we may leave from

DNS Diving operates from several departure points around Grand Cayman. We choose the dock, boat and operating area around the day's weather, sea conditions and planned itinerary, then confirm the details with you before your trip.

DNS Diving chooses the departure point — guests don't pick it themselves, and not every location below is used on any given day. There's no need to head to a dock until we've confirmed it with you. Complimentary pickup remains available for confirmed bookings from the Cracked Conch area through George Town.
