  • Where are you from originally and how did you get started in Diving?

Even though I am from a landlocked state (Kansas) I have always been in the water.  Lifeguard, sailing, water skiing, etc… so it was a natural progression to try diving.  Once I did it I knew that I was going to pursue it.
  • How did you end up coming to Cayman?

I was offered a 3-month contract with Fisheye and took them up on it.  My first dive was Eagle Ray Pass… I was hooked.  I came back and told them if they wanted me for longer I would sign up with them and they did.
  • Why do you love diving in Grand Cayman?

After island hopping around the Caribbean for a couple years, I instantly knew after my first dive here that these waters have something special about them. I cannot put it into words, but I instantly loved diving here and will always love it.
  • What is your favorite Dive site and why?

That is impossible to answer.  West is either Sand Chutes, since it has so much life, Eagle Rays, Chromis, Eels, or North West Point, it never disappoints. North is Round About, killer formations, or Main Street, always looking for the big stuff.
  • What is your favorite restaurant on the island?

Going out for nice evening it’s Blue Cilatro. Casual split between Sunshine and Agave.
  • What is something funny about yourself?

I am terrified of height and scream like a little girl on roller coasters.

  • Where are you from originally and how did you get started in Diving?

I grew up in Palm Beach and first learned to dive when I was 7 years old. My Mom was one of the first female NAUI Instructors. I spent most of my early years diving, swimming, and boating in the Bahamas and Cayman Islands.

  • How did you end up coming to Cayman?

I first experienced Grand Cayman in 1970. We stayed at the Seaview and rented tanks from Gerry Wilcox at FLAG across the street. We would also dive North with Crosby Ebanks. Crosby makes the best Cayman Fish Chowder! Once our kids were grown, we moved to Grand Cayman and will stay as long as we can.

  • Why do you love diving in Grand Cayman?

Most of the dive sites are minutes from the dock. DNS Diving is the first boat off the dock. It gets you back on the dock before 11:00am, giving you the rest of the day for other activities, like a 2 tank afternoon dive!
  • What is your favorite Dive site and why?

I love shallow sites, as there is more macro life, and longer bottom times on Nitrox. Spanish Anchor, and any of the other shallow finger reef sites are my favorite.

  • What is your favorite restaurant on the island?

Craft Food and Beverage. I am somewhat the beer snob and Craft has the best selection of brews. The menu is full of awesome eats, like Bacon Meatloaf and Jerk Chicken Alfredo.

  • Where are you from originally and how did you get started in Diving?

My name is Josh Foster. I am originally from Newcastle, UK. I have been around diving since I was 10 years old
  • How did you end up coming to Cayman?

When I turned 14 my whole family moved to Cayman. I got certified as an open water diver here in Cayman
  • Why do you love diving in Grand Cayman?

The diving in Cayman is out off this world! No matter if you dive the West Wall or the North Wall the diving still blows my mind
  • What is your favorite Dive site and why?

When it comes to picking a dive site, which I can call my favorite I have to say Ghost Mountain. It’s located around the North West corner as you head to the North wall. We don’t get to dive this site much, as there is always a lot off current or rough seas, which makes it a very rare site to dive.
  • What is your favorite restaurant on the island?

I have only been to this restaurant twice since it opened. It’s called Mizu, and is located in one of my favorite areas of the island, Camana Bay, great food and great service.
  • What is something funny about yourself?

Sometimes after a great dive I like to give out great big bear hugs, so be prepared and watch your back =)
