  • Where are you from originally and how did you get started in Diving?

I’m originally from Wexford, Pennsylvania and grew up on a lake. My dad introduced me to diving at a young age and I anxiously waited until I was old enough to get certified. I had always loved the water, once I had discovered the underwater world there was no turning back.

  • How did you end up coming to Cayman?

As a child I spent a lot of time in Grand Cayman and helped on dive boats through my high school and college breaks. In May 2014 I said goodbye to Virginia Tech and moved here permanently.

  • Why do you love diving in Grand Cayman?

The warm, clear water is a very inviting place to spend your time. The amount reef life that has settled here creates a mesmerizing scene that I will never get sick of.
  • What is your favorite Dive site and why?

It’s hard to choose one dive site as a favorite when we have so many beautiful ones to choose from, however I would have to go with La Mesa. I love this site because even though it is a shallow site the typography is very different from the rest and there is always an abundance of fish life. The amount of color that you see on this dive site is incredible, There are always cute critters to see there. If you get the chance to dive this site you’ll understand why I love it so much! It’s also where I did my first night dive when I was younger so it will always have an memorable impact on me.

  • What is your favorite restaurant on the island?

My favorite restaurant on island is probably Jessie’s Juice Bar, its more of a cafe than restaurant but they’ve got amazing juices, snacks, sandwiches and desserts! Its an awesome place to go for the day if you need to get any work done. I spend a lot of my time there when I am not working or doing schoolwork.

  • What is something funny about yourself?

    My accent!

I absolutely hate the color purple!

  • Where are you from originally and how did you get started in Diving?

Even though I am from a landlocked state (Kansas) I have always been in the water.  Lifeguard, sailing, water skiing, etc… so it was a natural progression to try diving.  Once I did it I knew that I was going to pursue it.
  • How did you end up coming to Cayman?

I was offered a 3-month contract with Fisheye and took them up on it.  My first dive was Eagle Ray Pass… I was hooked.  I came back and told them if they wanted me for longer I would sign up with them and they did.
  • Why do you love diving in Grand Cayman?

After island hopping around the Caribbean for a couple years, I instantly knew after my first dive here that these waters have something special about them. I cannot put it into words, but I instantly loved diving here and will always love it.
  • What is your favorite Dive site and why?

That is impossible to answer.  West is either Sand Chutes, since it has so much life, Eagle Rays, Chromis, Eels, or North West Point, it never disappoints. North is Round About, killer formations, or Main Street, always looking for the big stuff.
  • What is your favorite restaurant on the island?

Going out for nice evening it’s Blue Cilatro. Casual split between Sunshine and Agave.
  • What is something funny about yourself?

I am terrified of height and scream like a little girl on roller coasters.

  • Where are you from originally and how did you get started in Diving?

I am originally from Jolly, Texas population 256. Diving has always been a family thing. Ever since I was little I remember vacationing with the family, and my parents would go and dive every morning. Naturally I wanted to do the same, and got certified at age 12 and haven’t looked back since.
  • How did you end up coming to Cayman?

I grew up vacationing here with my family. When I was in University at Texas Tech, I started working for a dive shop there, and got my Divemasters. In the summer of 2010 I came down and did a DM internship with DNS. After I finished school I decided to move here and work fulltime.
  • Why do you love diving in Grand Cayman?

With some of the most impressive wall diving I have seen, what is not to love about diving here. The North Wall is as good as it gets for me. Swimming along out in the blue, that’s where I feel at home!
  • What is your favorite Dive site and why?

Favorite dive site is probably the one I did the most recently. It is hard to go on a dive and not have just a killer time. If I did have to choose I would say Creole Cliff out on the North Side. It has a killer swim through that everyone overlooks.
  • What is your favorite restaurant on the island?

With my love for food there is no way to choose just one. I would say Mizu or Lobster Pot. Mizu for its Balinese dishes, sushi, and the killer ambiance, and if your looking for red meat, the prime rib at lobster pot will not disappoint.
  • What is something funny about yourself?

I used to compete in rodeos when I was younger!

  • Where are you from originally and how did you get started in Diving?

I am originally from Australia and got certified here in Cayman on 06/05/2010.

  • How did you end up coming to Cayman?

I came to Cayman for a six-month holiday and ended up staying and working at diver supply until i got my instructors. Then I worked at Sunset.

  • Why do you love diving in Grand Cayman?

Because every time I drop below the surface I’m always looking for new things. It’s awesome to be able to show people new things as well. The North Wall is amazing and you never know what you will see.

  • What is your favorite Dive site and why?

My favorite site would have to be the Wreck of the Doc Paulson. The sand flats are a good feeding ground for the Rays and Headshield Slugs. Plus you never know what you will find inside the wreck i.e Gimpy the Eel

  • What is your favorite restaurant on the island?

Favorite restaurant would have to be Casanovas just because he can play “Stairway to Heaven” on the harp and the food is awesome.

  • What is something funny about yourself?

    My accent!

I’m one of a kind auzzy! I love the thrill of learning new and fun stuff. My favorite talent is been able to handle a Lion Fish, but please don’t try this at home.

  • Where are you from originally and how did you get started in Diving?

My name is Josh Foster. I am originally from Newcastle, UK. I have been around diving since I was 10 years old.
  • How did you end up coming to Cayman?

When I turned 14 my whole family moved to Cayman. I got certified as an open water diver here in Cayman
  • Why do you love diving in Grand Cayman?

The diving in Cayman is out off this world! No matter if you dive the West Wall or the North Wall the diving still blows my mind
  • What is your favorite Dive site and why?

When it comes to picking a dive site, which I can call my favorite I have to say Ghost Mountain. It’s located around the North West corner as you head to the North wall. We don’t get to dive this site much, as there is always a lot off current or rough seas, which makes it a very rare site to dive.
  • What is your favorite restaurant on the island?

I have only been to this restaurant twice since it opened. It’s called Mizu, and is located in one of my favorite areas of the island, Camana Bay, great food and great service.
  • What is something funny about yourself?

Sometimes after a great dive I like to give out great big bear hugs, so be prepared and watch your back =)
